13/05/2008 | Alma Mater turns the spotlight on the Marchesini Group

What makes a successful company? This was the topic under discussion at the conference, part of a series called “Emilia Romagna’s successful companies: what makes the difference”, organised by the Alma Mater on the 7 May. Over two hundred students and graduates of the University of Bologna attended it from the faculties of economics, business studies, engineering and chemistry. The conference focused on the Marchesini Group, which was represented by Maurizio Marchesini, Rita Tugnoli and Barbara Bertolini

09/05/2008 | “Interpack 2008”: more than positive results for Marchesini

An important test for the Group and the chance for our clients to evaluate in person the cutting-edge solutions that our machines are able to offer for all packaging needs”.  This was the first comment from Maurizio Marchesini, Managing Director of Marchesini Group, at the end of “Interpack 2008”, the world’s most important trade fair for the packaging industry, held in Düsseldorf from 24 to 30 April this year.  A three-yearly event that offers an important occasion to make comparisons in the packaging industry and one at which Marchesini Group has been successfully showcasing its products since 1981.

Average daily visitors to the Marchesini Group stand numbered more than 600 during the seven days of the Düsseldorf expo.  The Group’s clients from all over the world and in particular, from Germany, Eastern Europe, the Middle and Far East, and India confirmed the trends for the last three years, which have seen a lively and continuously moving market.

On the business front, the outcome has also been more than positive, as confirmed by the Group’s Sales Director, Piero Tomasi. “At our stand, which covered some 1,200 square metres,” Tomasi was keen to point out, ”clients were able to appreciate the six complete lines on show as well as a total of 35 machines also being exhibited.  They were also able to personally experience the Marchesini Group mission, which is to offer complete cutting-edge solutions to meet every packaging need for the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries, becoming a standard setter for its clients, whether they are multinationals or small- or medium-sized businesses”.

The complete line for packaging syringes was greatly admired; this is a line offering efficient, innovative answers for this area, from filling to palletising.  The spotlight was also on Integra, the new integrated and robotised blister line from Marchesini Group able to combine the two operations of thermoforming and cartoning in a single-block structure.  Other products catching the eye of visitors included: the new filler for rigid tubes, MT1000; the new TotalSpect360, the inspection machine for bottles manufactured by Neri and specifically for checking for non-orientated products using a single video camera; the FB220 thermoforming machine from Farcon; the FSP10 made by Co.Ri.M.A. for filling and capping disposable sterile syringes in an aseptic environment; the MD20, a machine for filling teabags, manufactured by Teamac.  Headliners for the cosmetics industry, were the two complete lines for perfume packaging and jar filling.

Lastly, even the Marchesini restaurant set up at the stand was a great success, serving over 400 meals per day and giving clients the opportunity to appreciate typical tasty dishes from Bolognese cuisine: first and foremost, our classic tortellini.

17/04/2008 | New: Marchesini Group and Nature Works

Interpack 2008 – News from Marchesini Group stand: on Farcon mechanical thermoformer FB220, we’ll use a new biodegradable material that is called PLA, derived from 100% annually renewable resources such as corn and already used in the food industry: a good alternative to the traditional plastic materials. The company that produces PLA is Nature Works: a responsible choice for packaging solutions (see the press release in attachment).

03/04/2008 | Integra: the new integrated robotised blister line from Marchesini Group

Interpack 2008 - Compact, fast, ergonomic, innovative. INTEGRA is the name of the new integrated robotised blister line from Marchesini Group which will be unveiled for the first time at “Interpack 2008”.
This latest-design blister line can integrate in a single block the two operations consisting of thermoforming and packaging in to cartons.
The line is divided into two sections, each controlled by its own independent PC, and is extremely compact.
Entirely built with a balcony structure in full compliance with GMP standards, it was designed around for basic concepts: versatility, ergonomics and maximum efficiency with limited dimensions. The extreme accessibility and ergonomics of all of the stations and maximum visibility of all units allow immediate line cleaning, not to mention that a vertical stainless steel wall guarantees separation of the mechanical zone from the working area.
The feeding unit is enclosed within a box which can be removed as a single block: a revolutionary system allowing great flexibility and significantly shorter cleaning and size change-over times. Since operators do not have to disassemble the individual parts, they can substitute the box with a second one, previously configured for another product (optional).
Forming, film unwinding and positioning and the film cooling plates are all fully controlled by brushless motors. The pitch is adjusted from the display.
The line has an integrated robotised connection, the Robocombi, a solution which guarantees blister pickup and placing directly in to the conveyor buckets.
The line can handle 300 blister /min. and 150 cartons/min.
