THE MAV50 VERTICAL CARTONER: ERGONOMIC AND FLEXIBLE
Following the growing market demands and thanks to its long experience in the horizontal cartoner field, the Marchesini Group has recently developed the MAV50, an intermittent vertical cartoner designed to fill both jars and bottles for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors.
The solutions that characterise this innovative cartoning m/c are ready to meet both market and product requirements in terms of packaging efficiency, flexibility and reliability.
The machine is characterised in fact by construction solutions that focus on ergonomics that make working on the machine easier and more comfortable as well as ensuring that the carton is handled safely and securely.
In the carton packaging sector, the feeding process is of great importance. Simple products, in fact, require only basic machine performance, but products with complex shapes and specifications require a completely different level of integration and compatibility with the upstream processes.
This is why the Marchesini Group, always extremely focused to the needs of its customers and the specific product to be packaged, has perfected a “pick & place” system incorporated in the machine structure to pick up the jar and place it into the carton. The automatic product feeding option also in puckes guarantees maximum pick up precision and the greatest care when inserting the product into the carton, without damaging it.
Another strong point of the MAV50 is the carton opening procedure. This is based on a patented solution that rotates the carton after it has been extracted from the horizontal magazine so it can be filled from above (in other words the longitudinal flaps are placed vertically).
Another important aspect is carton transport. It is performed by another innovative patented solution that on moves the carton forward, while preventing it from coming into contact with the fixed parts of the machine, which may scratch or scrape its outside surfaces. More specifically, a series of grippers move the carton through all packaging phases. The grippers open in the infeed area, then close delicately around the carton and open again to release the carton in the extraction zone. The product transport is therefore always moving together with the carton.
To ensure its flexibility, reliability and a leading market position, the machine also boasts a number of other technological features that should not be overlooked. The carton blank and leaflet feed magazines are both horizontal and pick up, folding and insertion into carton is guaranteed by a “pick & place” system. The great flexibility of the machine is also demonstrated by the various positions in which the leaflet can be placed: under the jar (in a U position around the product) or on top of it.
