The need to securely track the history of pharmaceuticals has arisen mainly to battle against counterfeit pharmaceuticals and consequently guarantees the safety and traceability of each individual product back through the whole production and distribution chain. Governments around the world are working to approve specific laws; but there will be differences in each country.

Marchesini Group is ready to offer its customers a variety of solutions to adapt packaging lines to these new legal traceability requirements.

We have developed and already tested solutions in collaboration with major multinationals and others too; some of which are already at work in various countries.

Our solutions for serialization are indicated in the 3 charts. For a better understanding of our models please refer to the following key explanation:

XL= Track&Trace (Code printing & Verification)
V= Vignette (a label on the carton body)
TE= Tamper Evident ( Tamper evident seals on the carton corners)
Where the letters are in brackets, it means that the machine is pre-arranged for that application.

This by now is the leading labelling machine on the market in terms of compliance with traceability requirements. 75 units have already been installed. Machine model BL400 applies various combinations of codes and labels and is available with various rig-outs based on the country and on the project.
