Sterilization Tunnel
The NLT series tunnels are the laminar flow type: the sterilization process takes place by means of hot air recycled and filtered with absolute filters.
Air heating takes place with stainless steel, fanned, low heat inertia batteries installed on the recycle fan intake.
Each laminar flow of hot air is equipped with independent temperature adjusment and a two-way recycle system as opposed to the conveyor belt, thus to even out the temperature.
Standard Features
- The laminar flow NLT series sterilization tunnels is built in stainless steel, in compliance with the GMP cfr 21 regulations.
- The types of steel used are: AISI 304 for the supporting structure and external panels, AISI 304 LC with a low carbon content or titanium AISI 320 for the internal parts subject to particular thermal shock; these steels have a high degree of stability even at the highest working temperatures.
- The sterilization chamber is isolated from the external environment by means of double-wall fiberglass-filled panels.
- The side doors can be fully opened and ensure easy access to the machine interior for cleaning operations.
- Entry and exit laminar flow air barriers ensure that the entire machine maintains pressureto the outside environment, preventing it from contamination.
- The absolute filters provide a vacuum seal to the machine interior; this also makes it impossible for contamination to occur from deterioration of the seals.
- The laminar flows are equipped with scanned and certified absolute filters, with 99,999% DOP efficiency.
- The fans which supply the absolute filters are powered by variable speed motors by means of frequency converters.
- The stainless steel mesh conveyor belt is fitted with side chains.
- The conveyor belt is driven by pinions which eliminate any possibility of slipping and ensure positive transfer and correct sterilization times.
- The conveyor system is protected by a torque limiter which stops the machine in the event of overloads.
- The basic sterilization parameters, such as temperature and time, are controlled and visually displayed during the entire processing period.
- Temperature adjustment takes place through static contactors.
- The vials and bottles are cooled by the exit laminar flow which also counter-balances the overpressure in the sterile chamber.
