AT INTERPACK THE MARCHESINI GROUP WILL SHOW A JAR PACKAGING LINE WITH A BRAND NEW END-OF-LINE SOLUTION
News, Product news
A jar packaging line has been set up especially for Interpack with a brand new end-of-line solution made up of the new vertical cartoner MAV 60 and the new automatic wrapper Farplus C.
The product infeed, capping and labelling processes are carried out by two of the Group’s great classics: the filling-capping unit MV 545 of the Tonazzi-Vasquali Division and the automatic container labeller SL F425 of the Neri Division.
Thanks to the safety offered by the two successful machines upstream and to the outstanding efficiency of the brand new end-of-line, this solution is one of the most complete and modern lines for the cosmetic packaging industry, where the Marchesini Group is investing remarkable finances and resources.
The line can process 3600 jars per hour.
MV 545, by Tonazzi-Vasquali Division, is a jar filler/capper with carousel, designed according to the highest of technological standards in order to guarantee top production performance and product quality. The machine can process symmetrical jars, using standard size parts, but also unusually shaped jars, using pucks.
The dispensing unit has tri-clamp fittings (hopper, pump, valve and nozzle) and can be transferred - completely assembled in one piece - with a special trolley from the work zone to the washing zone. The possibility to equip the filling units with CIP or SIP systems also simplifies washing off-line even further.
The dispensing quantity can be changed manually, by means of a precision adjustment device controlled by a digital indicator, or automatically from a display via a special stepper drive.
There are also various solutions for the cap and jar infeeds, according to specific automation requirements: from manual systems on a conveyor belt, semi-automatic systems from a vibrator or carousel, through to robotic systems for no-touch infeed, also with automatic size change-over.
The automatic cap pick-up, positioning and screwing system works with electronic torque control and the values are pre-set on the display.
A conveyor belt takes the jars from the MV 525 to the automatic high-speed labeller SL F425, designed to minimise manual size change-over operations and to guarantee easy access to make management, inspection and maintenance much easier. A servo-driven label application system with “mousse” rubber winding belt distributes the labels around the products, which are set apart from each other by a scroll.
Some of the main features of the standard model of SL F425 are a teach-in and saving system of the label parameters, automatic synchronisation of the working speed of all the motors, positive operating “Fail Safe” logic and presence control of the labels on the jars with luminescence photocells or cameras.
Among the optional devices available is the hot label overprinter with rapid hot foil refill, camera control of the individual OCV/OCR overprinted digits, a patented device to continuously cut the label backing tape and a reject system of incorrect labels before they are applied on the products.
The new vertical cartoner MAV 60 is an automatic intermittent motion machine with vertical carton conveyance, which makes its mark thanks to its outstanding ergonomics, processing delicacy and safeguard of the carton and product integrity.
Compared with the previous version, MAV 60 has a robotic product infeed and a system that picks and stands the carton up, which improves speed and ergonomics. The automatic infeed guarantees utmost product pick-up precision, absolute care in inserting it into the carton to avoid all possible damage and infeed flexibility even for unusually shaped products. Pick-up, automatic opening of the carton and its transport are carried out by patented innovative solutions. The carton is picked-up from the horizontal magazine and opened positively, with rotation and insertion into the buckets. Some pick-up grippers transport it throughout all the packaging phases, guaranteeing utmost delicacy in handling the product.
The infeed magazine of the liners and that of the booklet both develop horizontally. The liners and the booklets are inserted by a pick and place system.
Farplus C is a new and incredibly ergonomic automatic wrapper and consequently easy to clean. It has a Robocombi product infeeder and a product By-pass outside the machine to ensure a non-stop production of 80 packages a minute.
Thanks to the variety and high quality of the possible closure methods - from standard, to package individual or bundled products, such as all shapes and sizes of perfume bottles, to dot-seal closure and tear tape for easy opening - Farplus C is ideal for packaging cosmetic products.
The Robocombi acts as a “technological link” to the MAV 60 and the Farplus C units: the robot branded “Marchesini Group”, moves the incoming box to place it on the infeed belt that will take it through to the wrapping station. Once it is on the belt, the carton is positioned automatically and pushed against the film, which wraps around it thanks to a rake movement. This type of movement allows the system to detect the exact position of the carton for feasible additional operations, plus it prevents the cartons from touching each other. The film folding station can be adjusted to obtain different size dimensions.
Farplus C has a standard version, with side holding belts and an optimised version for cosmetics, which has holding plates that enable dot seal type closure.
