“To end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world's most vulnerable countries and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources”.
This is the mission of Stop Hunger Now, the international hunger relief agency that has been working with great commitment to end hunger for more than 15 years. Founded in 1998, it has mobilized over 450 thousand volunteers to send more than 160 million meals to 65 countries. Just within the week from 15th to 21st of September, thanks to this project, more than 500 thousand meals were prepared all over the world.
The Marchesini Group decided to offer its support. Last Saturday, during the company's ‘End of Summer’ party, employees of the Group got up early. Together with their families, they gathered next to the corporate Headquarters in Pianoro with a mutual goal: to wrap 24 thousand meals to feed people from one of the many forgotten villages in Burundi.

It was like creating a sort of packaging machine, but in this case children also worked on the production line and, instead of handling screws and bolts, the volunteers packaged rice, soy, dried vegetables and a mix of 23 minerals and essential vitamins, using the ingredients of the standard recipe at the base of Stop Hunger Now project.
Gongs sounded to mark every small target reached and music played to enlighten the job; the production line worked to perfection upstream, where the meals were packaged, and downstream, where the packs were weighed, sealed and palletized to finish. The 24 thousand meals prepared will soon be flown to Africa on a cargo flight, where they will be used to support transformational development projects such as school feeding programs, vocational training programs, early childhood development programs, orphanages and medical clinics.
The Marchesini Group is proud to have taken part in this remarkable international project and to have contributed in creating a world without hunger.
