ANTONIANO AND THE MARCHESINI GROUP, SERVING SOLIDARITY

This year again, the Marchesini Group has decided to collaborate with the Antoniano Onlus association from Bologna involved in charity, entertainment and social communication.

The Group’s contribution will help to economically support some important activities of the non-profit charity association, such as social secretariat services and educational workshops, and above all, the evening  meal service for the poor inaugurated last year. After the initial trial two days ago, Marchesini’s employees, together with the their families and friends, will meet at the completely refurbished Soup Kitchen of Father Ernesto to serve meals to people who struggle to provide for their own primary needs and those of their children.

Most are families, with or without children, and single-parent families with economic and relational problems: poor, and often lonely people, who have no relatives or friends to help them.

The food will be prepared at Father Ernesto’s Soup Kitchen by 40 famous chefs who will take turns in volunteering their skills and creativity and cook what the canteen has to offer.

All this has been made possible by the Food for Soul project, a non-profit association that battles food wastage, promoted by the famous chef, Massimo Bottura, who also promoted the opening of a Soup Kitchen in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2016, thanks to 12,500 hours of volunteering, the Antoniano Onlus association distributed 39 thousand meals and welcomed 25 families at its evening canteen.
