Marchesini Group Orienta 2025: Choosing Your Future with Passion and Awareness

Marchesini Group, a leading company in the production of pharmaceutical packaging machinery, opened the doors of its Headquarters to 200 people, including middle school students and their parents, to reflect together on the skills and jobs of the future in view of choosing their high school path. This initiative, organized annually by the Group, was created to give families a concrete perspective close to the world of work, offering both the opportunity to visit the company and to connect online to follow the event’s speeches remotely.

The afternoon was structured in two parts: upon arrival, families toured the production areas to observe the lines and automatic machines up close and to discover applications of robotics, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality. Accompanying the students and their parents on the tour were some of the Group’s employees, ready not only to explain how the machines work and showcase the high technological level of production, but also to answer questions and share their professional experiences. Afterwards, there was a discussion with Valentina Marchesini, HR and Marketing & Communication Director of the multinational, and Valeria Cagnina, a technology and education expert who built her first robot at the age of 11.

For us, it is extremely important to welcome students in their final year of middle school to our company and show them and their parents what we do every day, passing on our passion for automation and technology,” says Valentina Marchesini, HR and Marketing & Communication Director at Marchesini Group. “Our goal is to guide them in choosing their high school, reminding them not to have prejudices against technical and vocational schools, which offer great opportunities in the job market. We encourage them to find that spark within themselves that will help them understand what they enjoy doing, without fear of making mistakes, because they have plenty of time to try different things and find their own path. It is also important to study languages and open up to an increasingly interconnected and fast-moving world.”

During the meeting, the discussion focused on the importance of following one’s ideas, the opportunities offered by STEM disciplines, and the jobs of the future. The contributions of some young employees working at Marchesini Group were also highly appreciated, as was the story of guest speaker Valeria Cagnina, who shared her passion for robotics, her first TEDx talk, the summer she spent at MIT in Boston at age 15, and the founding of Ofpassion, an educational hub offering training services for all ages.
“Don’t be afraid to follow what you are passionate about and don’t be afraid to build your own path,” Valeria Cagnina told the students present. “Sometimes we choose something just to follow our friends and feel part of the group, but it’s also important to listen to yourself, without fear of going against the tide and making some sacrifices. My advice to parents is to listen to their children, let them be free to choose, and allow them to have experiences even far from home.”
