A concrete approach to
more sustainable packaging

Through the “be” project, Marchesini Group supports the transition to more sustainable packaging. This commitment has developed into a cross-functional approach combining technical expertise, material analysis, shared know-how, and testing across the packaging value chain, in line with the evolving PPWR framework.

The PPWR is setting a new framework for packaging in Europe, with stronger requirements on recyclability, labeling, materials and waste reduction.

The PPWR regulation (EU Regulation 2025/40) was published on 22 January 2025 and will apply from 12 August 2026. Its objective is to harmonize national measures, support the transition to a circular economy and provide a clearer framework for industry and investment.

Packaging made sustainable, how we do it?

A collaborative method built around testing and know-how

To address new packaging challenges, Marchesini Group has built a cross-functional team which studies innovative materials, gathers technical data, carries out analyses and tests, and develops dedicated technical solutions.

This work is supported by collaboration with suppliers and customers, a shared internal database and a standardised working method across divisions and machine models.
