Our solutions at Interpack 2026 to turn the challenges of the PPWR regulation into an opportunity

The next edition of Interpack, scheduled to take place from 7 to 13 May in Düsseldorf, will devote significant space to the paradigms of the circular economy. The packaging industry is increasingly focusing on solutions designed to reduce environmental impact throughout the entire product lifecycle. In line with the long‑standing commitment embodied by the Be program, Marchesini Group will showcase its vision and know‑how developed over more than fifty years of activity, highlighting how packaging sustainability is a cross‑cutting theme across the Group’s Pharma and Beauty Business Units. In Hall 15, Stand A42 (1–6), visitors will find a large area dedicated to technologies for packaging products using paper, aluminum and monomaterial plastics that are recyclable and contain recycled content.

The solutions on show are the result of many years of research and a structured collaboration with suppliers and customers, with the aim of turning the provisions of the European PPWR Regulation (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) into a concrete opportunity for the entire sector.
To explore these topics in depth, the Group will host a series of talks focused on the European regulation and on technologies that support the progressive replacement of PVC, introducing recyclable mono-material solutions for the thermoforming of blisters and trays. The sessions, each lasting about half an hour, will be held daily in two time slots—at 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.—and will be accessible by reservation only.

Solutions on show in the Be Area: Integra 720 line, Infinity Feeder and Rinova Remanufacturing

In the area dedicated to sustainability, the INTEGRA 720 blister line will also be on display. It is designed to ensure maximum productivity without compromising efficiency or reliability. Its compact design allows installation even in production environments with limited space, without sacrificing speed, while offering a high level of flexibility. The machine supports a wide range of thermoforming and lidding materials and will be presented at the trade show specifically with mono material polypropylene blisters. The line will also include an AI based Line Clearance system developed by SEA Vision, a company specialised in vision systems for track & trace. This ergonomic solution, featuring rapid and automatic format changeovers, is equipped with a new automatic carton magazine.

The innovations on display also include a new INFINITY FEEDER blister feeding system. This is a flexible, high performance solution capable of handling products of any shape and with wide tolerance ranges. Its major innovation lies in the integration of product inspection via camera at the feeding stage, enabling the ejection of damaged tablets and the replenishment of missing ones. The result is the total elimination of incomplete blisters during production, ensuring unprecedented quality and continuity. In addition, the system avoids contact between the product and the sealing material, ensuring clean sealing. The feeder operates with both plastic materials and cold form.

Sustainability is also achieved by extending machine service life through Rinova, the brand specialised in remanufacturing Marchesini Group machines. At the trade show, visitors will be able to see a cartoner that has been refurbished to 60%, which the Rinova team will complete directly on the stand, offering a close up view of the remanufacturing process.
