THE FOUNDATION STONE OF THE NEW CMP PHAR.MA PLANT WAS LAID

The foundation stone of the new CMP Phar.ma plant was laid yesterday. The company from Costabissara (Vicenza) - which specialises in the production of inspection systems for the pharmaceutical sector and became part of the Marchesini Group in 2018 - is thus paving the way for the construction of its new headquarters, a 5,000 square metre industrial site that will allow it to grow further in terms of orders and turnover.

“CMP Pharm.ma has been with us throughout 2020, supporting us with its inspection systems installed on our lines, which packaged the first Covid-19 vaccines. This new investment, amounting to 6.5 million euro, will allow CMP to keep up with the times and focus even more on technologies for controlling drug production and on developments related to Artificial Intelligence”, commented Pietro Cassani, CEO of Marchesini Group.

“Providing there are no stoppages due to the pandemic, we will be ready to move into the new premises in spring 2023”, added Luigino Pilastro, founder and CEO of CMP Phar.ma. “At the same time, we will embark on a five-year recruitment plan that will allow us to double the number of our employees from the current 40 to 70-80”.

Also present at the laying of the foundation stone were Maurizio Marchesini, Chairman of Marchesini Group and Marco Marchesini, Industrial Director of Marchesini Group.

The new plant will house the new areas for the design and assembly areas of single machines and lines. The warehouse and the company’s Research and Development department will remain at the current site nearby.
