"We are on the right track"

When they came to redesign their first cartoning machine, Massimo Marchesini and his right-hand man, Giuseppe Monti, knew that they had to make the machine more functional than ever before for the operator. So, they made what was an unprecedented design decision for the day, positioning the carton magazine lower down compared to where it was traditionally installed by rival companies.

It was an unconventional and particularly innovative choice that allowed the operator to load the magazine more easily and without interrupting machine operations.

The first reactions, which Giuseppe still remembers today, were of incredulity: “It’s impossible” and “you’re crazy”. It was exactly what Massimo Marchesini wanted to hear. His reply was: “We’re on the right track. From now on, this is how we’re going to build our carton magazines”.

That particular innovation was not about taking a risk purely for the sake of it; it was about wanting to create something new and improved for those who would be using the machine every day.

Today, the carton magazine maintains this same innovative ergonomic position on all our machines.
