Marchesini Group Celebrates 50 Years of Innovation at CPHI 2024: showcasing a new cartoning machine and the latest digital innovations

Marchesini Group, a leading company in the production of complete lines for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, will participate in the upcoming edition of CPHI Worldwide, which will be held in Milan from October 8 to 10 this year. This is an important event for the Group, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary by showcasing a new cartoning machine. This fundamental machine marked the beginning of the company’s activities: in the late 1970s, Massimo Marchesini began designing the first continuous cartoning machine with technical and design features that revolutionised the market standards of the time.

Today, as then, the Group has never stopped renewing its range of machinery, and it is in this spirit that the new MA-i 150 will be presented at stands 18C41 and 18C37. This versatile and fast intermittent cartoning machine, featuring a cleaner and more functional design as per Marchesini Group tradition, can handle a wide range of formats with a maximum speed of 150 pieces per minute. Versatility is ensured by the flexible on-board closure systems and the tool-less format change

In addition to this new product, the stand will also showcase several solutions by Dott. Bonapace, developed by the Laboratory Division. Innovative benchtop machines will be on display, including a two-channel system for counting and filling bottles with tablets, capsules, and pills, as well as two versatile and compact solutions: a capsule filler equipped with stations for dosing any oral form, both solid and liquid, and their combinations, and an efficient rotary tablet press ideal for research, development, and small batch production of tablets. There will also be a complete line for filling, cooling, and sealing ovules and suppositories.

The Group’s exhibition area will also feature M.A.R, a brand specialising in machines for filling powders and liquids in bottles, syringes, and cartridges, as well as SEA Vision, a company specialising in vision systems.

This edition will therefore focus on pharmaceutical production, but also on technological innovation: visitors will be able to experience the latest developments in digital transformation and artificial intelligence. These include “Morpheus”, a predictive maintenance solution available to customers to help them increase productivity and gain greater knowledge and control of the purchased machines. It will also be possible to explore the Customer Portal, which includes a range of services designed to meet customer needs, and augmented reality format change. This simple and intuitive technology allows pharmaceutical companies to quickly and effectively train their technicians, reducing the risk of errors. Additionally, there will be a new robotic island for product picking, enhanced by artificial intelligence.
