Italian Minister of Labour Andrea Orlando visits the Marchesini Group
During his visit to Emilia-Romagna to sign the Memorandum of Agreement between the Region and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies on education and employment, Italian Minister of Labour Andrea Orlando visited the Marchesini Group Headquarters, accompanied by Regional Governor Stefano Bonaccini and Regional Councillor for Economic Development Vincenzo Colla. They were welcomed and guided through the production plants by Marchesini Group Chairman Maurizio Marchesini, CEO Pietro Cassani, Industrial Manager Marco Marchesini and Human Resources Manager Valentina Marchesini.
During his visit, Minister Orlando was able to take a close look at the operation of a vaccine secondary packaging line, similar to the one sold to Russian customer Biocad for the production of the Sputnik V Covid vaccine, and two other lines for packaging contact lenses and an asthma medication in inhaler format.
The Minister was then shown around the rapid prototyping department equipped with latest-generation 3D printers able to process plastic, metal and rubber to produce prototypes usable within the production cycle in extremely short times thanks to the additive manufacturing technology.
The tour concluded in the Group’s new Beauty Division, where Minister Orlando met the worker’s OHSAS representative and the trade unions. “Marchesini Group is an impressive organisation," Mr Orlando declared. "I particularly liked its recruitment capabilities and its engagement with the Universities and the entire educational system in preparing for the new challenges ahead of us. Discussion and sharing of goals generate synergies for creating jobs and interesting opportunities. It’s an example of the “Emilia model”, which I believe must be defended, and extended to the whole country where possible”.
